TRAVIS BERKETA

Travis Berketa was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, with two brothers and two sisters. Coming from such a big family, it was difficult for him to always find time to write, but he managed to begin many different stories without finishing any.

Eventually after completing an Associate Diploma of Business Accounting, doing a stint at McDonald's in South Melbourne, floor sanding with a couple of floor sanding companies and waiting tables at Moonee Valley Race Course, he decided to move into teaching.  Travis Berketa completed his Bachelor of Education (Primary and Secondary) at RMIT in 2002 and got a job at Stawell West Primary School.

Being out in the country allowed him to become a teacher by day and a writer during the evenings and some weekends.  In 2006, he went to Brolga Publishing with a manuscript and by 2007 Dark Heart: Images of a City was published.  Well there was a bit more to it than that, but you probably don't want to read about all of the waiting and rewriting!

In 2008, Travis Berketa moved back to Melbourne and continued writing while working at Brunswick North Primary School. Dark Heart: Angels in the City was published in 2010, with Jack Majors: Superhero and Dark Heart: Beasts in the City following in 2012.

His plan is to continue writing the many and varied stories that he has begun but has yet to complete and continue to entertain his readers with exciting stories that have many twists and turns. We hope that you will continue to join him on this journey!
